ZELT for cars Sensor

Developed, tested and patented by the CETE Sud Ouest in 1999, adapted and validated by Eco-Counter, the ZELT Inductive Loop Sensor is complete innovation in vehicle counting. This low-energy consuming sensor provides an alternative to other high energy-use products on the market. It does not need to be connected to the grid and boasts a one-year battery life.

Operating Principle
ZELTcars

An inductive loop is inserted in the road (2 to 5 cm deep). Each time a car goes over the loop, the system detects the wheels electromagnetic signature and registers a count. The loop are 2.,5 m wide and it is possible to join up to 4 loops together. Discretely inserted in the road, the sensor is almost completely invisible. This reduces the risk of vandalism. A Pack Battery allows autonomy to 1 year. The system can be used for permanent or semi-permanent counting. The sensor can also be used for temporary counting.
Applications

Minimum cabinet size :
30 x 30 x 20 cm (12 x 12 x 8 in)
Sensitivity
All cars that have metal in the wheel frame (Almost all models) will be counted. Some slow moving 2 wheel motorised might be missed.
Accuracy
5 % according to the quality of the installation and the flow of traffic .
Settings
The sensitivity and timer are set in the factory.
Installation
Plan between one and 2 hours to install one loop on an asphalt road.
One System includes
1 or 2 inductive loop

1 ZELT transducer

1 7.2V Lithium battery
Ground Preparation
The sensor is connected to the logger by 4m of cable (other lengths available on request). Power cutters (diamond disk) must be used in order to cut the asphalt. Do not forget to dig a trench for the cables and post for the cabinet.
