Managing and comparing data from bike tourism in different countries

With 6,000km of bike trails running through 9 different countries, it comes without no doubt that calculating the benefits of the Atlantic-Black Sea Bike Trail is a key point of the project.

With 25 counters installed with GSM data transmission and a report produced every year, it is easy to inform all the concerned parties (hotels, tourist offices, local administrations, etc.) and compare data from different countries.

2 regions are now sharing their data at the moment, and they are builiding economic indicators based on this gathered data.

Count data can also be used to:

  • Understand usage patterns of cyclists as a function of time, weather, and season.
  • Evaluate trends over time to help guide future investments in route expansion.
  • Use automatic data transfer
